On April 2, 2024, we took over the construction site of the geriatrics facility of the Poprad Hospital.
The goal of the project is to create floating beds for institutional health care mainly intended for geriatric patients and palliative care and, if necessary, also for other clinical departments (internal medicine, neurological or other departments) in the sense of remedial health care. The project is also focused on energy efficiency, as an average of more than 30% reduction in direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions will be achieved. Thermal and technical calculations show that the building currently does not meet the requirements for energy-efficient buildings.
The first part of the project is aimed at modifying the external appearance of the building, insulating the building's outer shell. The second part completes the project with the replacement of interior plasters, floors, soffits and new layout division of the 1st floor and partial modifications of the division of the 2nd and 3rd floors. 4NP has already been reconstructed, so it is not considered in this part.
The reconstruction of selected parts of the 1st floor to the 3rd floor will create 59 full-size beds with associated ambulances and equipment for medical personnel. There will be 12 ICU beds with facilities on the 1st floor, 24 beds on the 2nd floor, 23 beds on the 3rd floor. The existing number of 26 beds remains on the 4th floor.
